Madrid Fintech Capital 2024 turns the Spanish capital into the European epicentre of financial innovation

An event organised by the Spanish Association of FinTech and InsurTech (AEFI) along with Finnovating, with the support of Madrid City Council, brought together more than 150 leaders of the FinTech sector from around the world.

Over the course of two days, on 20 and 21 February, participants discussed and analysed the latest trends and opportunities in the field of technology and financial innovation. In addition, they addressed topics such as the opportunities and advantages of Madrid as a FinTech capital, the current European FinTech panorama, success stories of international FinTech in Madrid and the Soft-Landing Programme of Madrid Investment Attraction.

One of the most significant moments of the event was the signing and official presentation of the Global Fintech Alliance, a partnership between the European Digital Finance Association (EDFA), FinTech Ibero-America (FIA) and the Africa Fintech Network. This alliance aims to explore international synergies, share ways of working and organise other events for the global promotion of the FinTech ecosystem.

Rodrigo García de la Cruz, vice president of AEFI and founder and CEO of Finnovating, explains that “Madrid International FinTech Capital is a unique opportunity to highlight the role of our country as the European epicentre of financial innovation. We are very pleased to be able to bring together international leaders and esteemed industry experts to discuss the latest trends and opportunities in the world of financial technology.”

Events such as Madrid International FinTech Capital are fundamental to promote financial innovation in Spain and Europe, creating a space for dialogue and collaboration between the key agents in the FinTech ecosystem, which will undoubtedly contribute to the development of new technological solutions and the growth of the sector.
