Madrid Investment Attraction (MIA) held the event “MIA TALKS: Artificial Intelligence and Territorial Competitiveness” on March 25. The meeting was organized in collaboration with the British Chamber of Commerce and with the support of CaixaBank, and took place at the bank’s All in One space in Madrid.
The event brought together institutional representatives, experts from the technology and business sectors, as well as professionals from the innovation ecosystem, to analyze the impact of artificial intelligence and its role as a driver for attracting talent and investment in a global environment.
The institutional opening featured María Jesús Romero de Ávila Torrijos, Director of the Economy Department of Madrid City Council; Pilar Moreno Casas, Director of HolaBank Madrid; Susana Rodríguez, Regional Vice President for Madrid at the British Chamber of Commerce in Spain; and Ángel Niño, Councillor for Innovation and Entrepreneurship of Madrid City Council. They highlighted the importance of public-private collaboration in consolidating Madrid as an international innovation hub.
During the event, Antonio Serrano Acitores delivered a presentation addressing artificial intelligence from a comprehensive perspective, analyzing both its legal and economic implications, as well as the challenges and opportunities it presents in the international context.
A roundtable discussion titled “Talent and Investment: The New Determinants of Territorial Competitiveness” was also held, moderated by Joan Sintes Segarra, CCO & Board Member of Plain Concepts. Participants included Sílvia Pina, Recruiting Experts Worldwide Director at Hays; César Blanco García, President of the Big Data & AI Cluster Madrid; Carlos Marquerie Tamayo, CEO of Axionomy; and Javier Espinosa García, Director of Software Engineering Excellence.
During the discussion, participants agreed in highlighting artificial intelligence as a key element for economic development and territorial competitiveness, emphasizing its ability to drive investment attraction, support the recruitment of specialized talent, and strengthen the international positioning of cities such as Madrid.
This new edition of MIA TALKS reinforces Madrid Investment Attraction’s commitment to promoting initiatives that foster dialogue between the public and private sectors, helping to establish Madrid as a strategic destination for foreign investment in high value-added sectors.
