EPAM NEORIS INAUGURATES ITS EUROPEAN ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE HUB IN MADRID

EPAM NEORIS has announced the official opening of its new artificial intelligence center in Madrid, the “NEORIS Artificial Intelligence Hub (NAIH), powered by EPAM”, strengthening the Spanish capital’s position as a strategic node for the development and business application of this technology at the European level.

The new hub will host more than 150 professionals specialized in artificial intelligence, who will work on creating, experimenting with, and implementing advanced solutions with a practical, responsible approach aligned with international regulatory standards. The initiative responds to the growing demand for technology solutions with tangible business impact, integrating AI into complex architectures to help companies become more competitive, agile, and innovative.

The initiative follows EPAM Systems’ acquisition of Mexican tech consultancy NEORIS in November 2024. This merger brought together NEORIS’s regional expertise and strong presence in Latin America with EPAM’s global technological capabilities, operating with more than 60,000 professionals in 55 countries. The result is a company with a robust value proposition, able to deliver AI solutions tailored to different sectors and markets.

The new Madrid center is positioned as a space for co-creation, use-case analysis, and strategic support for organizations interested in deploying AI in their processes. Its activity is structured around four fundamental pillars:

1. Co-creation of solutions: direct collaboration with clients, technology partners, startups, and other ecosystem players to design customized AI-based solutions.

2. Identification of real use cases: developing projects with direct impact on operational efficiency, cost reduction, and return on investment (ROI), particularly in key sectors such as financial services, industry and manufacturing, retail, and telecommunications.

3. Strategic support for responsible AI: expert advisory to ensure developments are aligned with business objectives and comply with regulatory and ethical frameworks, both nationally and internationally.

4. Knowledge generation (insights): analyzing trends, risks, and opportunities to anticipate market evolution and support informed decision-making.

According to Luis Álvarez, NEORIS President for the EMEA region, “Artificial intelligence has not come to replace us, but it will change the world as we know it. The creation of this space reinforces our commitment to technological progress and to developing solutions that deliver real value to organizations, while ensuring regulatory compliance and maximizing their positive impact on society.”

In addition to work and project development areas, the hub includes a coworking space to encourage interaction among companies, startups, and investors. This openness to the ecosystem not only enables experimentation with cutting-edge technology but also fosters synergies that accelerate the effective adoption of AI solutions at various stages of technological maturity.

The choice of Madrid as headquarters is no coincidence. The city stands out for its growing digital ecosystem, its ability to attract highly qualified talent, and its regulatory environment favorable to technological innovation. Madrid was recently recognized as the second-largest European destination for greenfield projects in 2024, with more than €4.7 billion invested — underscoring its leadership as a technology hub in Europe.

In this context, initiatives such as the ALIA project —driven by both public and private institutions— further reinforce Spain’s role as a reference in generative artificial intelligence. EPAM NEORIS’s strategic vision aligns with this commitment, providing a platform for companies to experiment with AI in a safe, ethical, and effective way.

Martín Méndez, CEO of NEORIS, stressed that “the real added value lies in supporting clients in the medium and long term. It’s not just about technology, but about transforming business models and anticipating the future. We are in the early years of a technology that will change the way we live, work, and interact.”

With this move, EPAM NEORIS consolidates its leadership in digital transformation, expands its innovation services portfolio, and positions Madrid as the epicenter of its European artificial intelligence strategy. The NEORIS Artificial Intelligence Hub represents not only a technological investment, but also a firm commitment to the responsible, sustainable, and collaborative development of AI in Europe.
